Donald Ross and Pinehurst -- the two go hand in hand like St. Andrews and Old Tom Morris or Bobby Jones and Augusta National. Donald Ross came to the Carolinas in the early 1900's and helped turn Pinehurst into one of the world's most popular golf destinations. Pine Needles was opened in 1927 and has hosted many memorable events through the years. Most recently, the course was site of Karrie Webb's impressive performance in the 2001 U.S. Women's Open.
Please note: the course will be closed from May through October, 2004. Renowned course architect John Fought has been hired to rebuild all greens and make other modifications to restore original Ross features that have been lost over the past 75 years. We can't wait to see the results!
