| 04/07/2008 - We were late getting to the course so we did not get a chance to use the practice facilities.
When I bought the course map (cheat sheet) the guy in the shop took some time and litterally wrote pointers for about 5-6 holes. It helped me out tremendously.
Of course he forgot to mention how important it was to get on the greens on the last 2 par 3s (and not go into the water).
Loved the course! Posted by John (Arlington, VA) |
| 03/19/2007 - One of the most beautiful and challanging courses I have ever played. Except for the fact that the greens had been aerated the week before, the play was wonderful. We had originally opted for the Green course but apparently the were aerating that day. I understand that it is a chance you take playing this time of year but it would be greast if there would be some way of knowing their schedule. Posted by Mary Ann (Auburn, ME) |

Considered the "Crown Jewel of Virginia golf," the legendary Gold course at Golden Horseshoe ranks #55 on GOLF Magazine's 2008 "Top 100 Courses You Can Play" based on excellence in design, conditioning and service. Created by Robert Trent Jones in 1963, the course boasts Jones' first island green on the par-three 16th. In fact, all four par threes are memorable in their own right and require a tee shot over water. Narrow rolling fairways lined by tall pines and ancient hardwoods lead to well-protected bent grass greens throughout. Rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest, Golden Horseshoe's Gold will not disappoint!
Proper golf attire required.
