Both layouts were designed by Desmond Muirhead in 1971 and are conventional in design with beautiful tropical surroundings and views of Camelback and Mummy Mountains. McCormick Ranch has hosted many nationally recognized tournaments such as the Arizona Open, the State Amateur, and the U.S. Open Qualifier. Long regarded as one of the most challenging resort courses in the Valley, the award-winning Arizona Grand Golf Course (formerly known as Phantom Horse Golf Club on South Mountain) completed a $2.5 million redesign in the fall of 2002. The highlight of the redesign is "Alcatraz," the challenging island green on #18. Combined with the existing "Jailhouse Steps" on #12, you have two of the most exciting holes in the Valley. Longbow Golf Club ~ 14.23 miles

Redesigned by original architect Ken Kavanaugh, over 250,000 cubic yards of earth was moved to create the NEW Longbow Golf Club. There was not a hole that went untouched as new holes were created and the original signature holes were improved and enhanced. The total yardage was increased over 300 yards to play over 7000 yards from the back tees. Yet, over 13 acres of turf was added to the course to create wider more receptive fairways.
