Port Royal - Barony ~ 0.05 miles
|

One of the island's oldest courses, Barony was designed by George W. Cobb back in 1963. You'll feel comfortable with your driver in your hand here as Cobb provides generous landing areas throughout the round. Don't get too comfortable; however, as your approach shots will much need to be on the mark. Cobb offers a "risk/reward" approach to well-guarded and well-bunkered greens. After golf, make sure to enjoy some time in the club's beautiful Antebellum-style clubhouse.

Port Royal - Robber's Row ~ 0.05 miles

Redesigned by Pete Dye in 1994, this terrific course has long been an island favorite. Cut through beautiful stands of magnolia and live oak trees, the grounds here are rich in Civil War history. In fact, you'll find historical markers on several holes describing the events that happened here so long ago. The course itself is typical (diabolical?) Dye with fairly generous landing zones, but tough approach shots to small, well-bunkered greens....

Palmetto Hall Plantation - Hills Course ~ 1.76 miles

Opened in 1991, this Hills work was instantly dubbed a classic by Golf Magazine. The Hills course at Palmetto Hall still remains one of the most popular courses on Hilton Head. The course is seamlessly integrated into wetlands and stands of live oak, willow, and pine. Protected greens, many edged with bunkers and water on 14 holes, provide a constant challenge....

Rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest's most recent version of "Best Places to Play," Hilton Head National features 18 holes by Gary Player and nine by Bobby Weed. All 27 holes are challenging, yet playable and seem to follow Player's philosophy of "minimal hazards in the line of play." We say, "well done, Mr. Player!"
