The course features large fairways framed by expansive waste bunkers and towering pines (hence the comparisons to Pine Valley). If you are staying in Brooksville it is a must play. If you are staying in Ocala, Tampa, or Orlando, it is well worth the scenic drive to play this masterpiece.

Although built right next door, the land occupied by Rolling Oaks at World Woods, another Tom Fazio gem, provides a stark contrast to that at Pine Barrens. Here you'll find huge oak trees draped with Spanish moss within a landscape reminiscent of Augusta National, including the gorgeous Azaleas! The course features beautiful rolling fairways and well-defined bunkers with bright white sand. Fazio's mindset must have been completely different when designing both courses, but the end results are nothing less than spectacular. Particularly enjoyable are the great par-three holes at Rolling Oaks. Play them both for one of golf's most exciting 36-hole days!
