PineHills was designed in 1992 on the site of the Pines Course at Myrtlewood, which was the fourth 18-hole design built on the Grand Strand. Arthur Hills transformed this pioneering course into a contemporary design that immediately became a "must play" for resident and visiting golfers alike. It's no wonder why Dan Maples is the favorite son of Myrtle Beach golf course design. At The Wizard, he's created one of the most unique courses in the area. From your first glimpse of the stone castle clubhouse to your last putt on eighteen, you're in for one heck of a fun day. Although water is present everywhere, the impact of an Irish links design is always present with towering mounds and a variety of flowers, shrubs, and grasses. The Man O' War Golf Club ~ 4.92 miles (Not Driving Distance)
Rated 3 1/2 stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play," Dan Maples created Man O' War from the depths of a 100-acre lake. Back-to-back island greens, fairways that seem to float on water, and strategically placed trees all combine for a memorable round. Keeping the ball in play is only part of the game plan here as most approach shots are to large bent-grass greens. Your short game will also need to be at its best!
