About Pine Lakes International Country Club (Myrtle Beach, SC)
After a massive three-year project, Pine Lakes (aka "The Grandaddy") has reopened (March 2009) to great applause in Myrtle Beach. Burroughs and Chapin, the course owners, spent $15 million dollars to restore and renovate the course for 21st century golfers. The course is now the first in the Grand Strand to use Paspalum grass, which can be irrigated with salt water instead of fresh water. The clubhouse also now features a new 6000-square-foot wing to house the pro shop, locker rooms, pub, kitchen, and patio.

Very, very friendly and helpful staff -- the starter was very helpful, the rangers were friendly, the bag drop guys were terrific, the woman in the bar/restaurant was terrific and made us feel welcome. The food was also wonderful. We loved our experience at this course and would definitely choose this course to play again if we return to Myrtle Beach.
