Crosswinds Golf Club is the perfect choice of venue for a game of golf for golfers arriving at, or departing from, the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. Located just west of the airport, this facility offers golfers the opportunity to play a fantastic 18-hole championship course, or simply work the kinks out at the expansive practice facility, or on the lighted 9-hole Par-3 course. The championship course offers two distinctly different nines. The front nine offers a Parkland-style golf experience with tree-lines fairways and surrounding water hazards, while the back nine feels more like a links course as it features wide-open fairways and more water features. A definite must play for anyone visiting Hilton Head Island on a golf vacation!

Located on historical Bloody Point, thus its name, this Tom Weiskopf, Jay Morrish, design that is situated along the Mungen River is more playable and forgiving than its sister Melrose Course. It is serene and isolated with no homes in sight, and has been described as "park-like". It was originally designed as a private walking course, so the tees are usually in close proximity to the previous green, and there are no cart paths. The course is fairly open. Since play here is sparse the pace of play is usually very good. Although there are some water hazards in play, the biggest challenge will come from the oversized undulating greens and greenside bunkers. Bloody Point places a strong emphasis on the short game, so be sure to pack yours.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Bloody Point is closed for the season.
You must take the ferry from the Hilton Head Embarkation Center to the island. The round trip fee is $35, payable direct to the Embarkation Center.
The Melrose course, named after the Melrose mansion that once occupied this swathe of land during South Carolina's antebellum era, is most recognized for its finishing three ocean holes. Most notable is the Par-4 18th that features a split fairway dissected by an islet of trees and bunkers, and is bordered on the right by a spectacular ocean vista. Although the final three holes are the most celebrated, the landward links are certainly not mediocre. The course plays tough, as Nicklaus designs often do, and challenges golfers with a combination of water, wetlands, sand, and trees. The Melrose's splendor presents an awe-inspiring golf experience sure to be reminisced upon for years to come.

Positioned just minutes off Hilton Head Island, Eagle's Pointe offers an ideal location and setting for your next round of golf. A true and fair test for players of all ability levels, this course features wide, well-defined fairways, dramatic bunkering, and magnificent undulating greens. And it's all surrounded by the area's native grasses and towering pines. Designed by 1997 PGA Champion Davis Love III, Eagle's Pointe is widely regarded as Hilton Head's most exciting new course in recent years. Make sure it is on your roster of courses to play.

The first of Indigo Run's two Nicklaus-designed golf courses, the Golden Bear at Indigo Run has quickly earned a name for itself as one of the top-rated layouts on an island of top-flight designs. An abundance of water and sand keep play interesting, but never penalizing. Winding through a beautiful landscape of oak and pine woodlands, Golden Bear is a perfect addition to any golf itinerary.

Rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest's most recent version of "Best Places to Play," Hilton Head National features 18 holes by Gary Player and nine by Bobby Weed. All 27 holes are challenging, yet playable and seem to follow Player's philosophy of "minimal hazards in the line of play." We say, "well done, Mr. Player!" Designed into its natural surrounding, the Hills at Palmetto Dunes is a perfect blend of beauty and challenge. The scenery is outstanding: thick stands of palmettos line the graceful course, which is built on a series of rolling dunes. However, off-balance lies and ocean breezes will remind you to keep your eye on the ball. This nautral wonder has won many awards...and the hearts of many golfers.

Unique. Innovative. Eminently playable. Describe it as you will, the Robert Cupp course is a boldy original design---characterized by straight lines, sharp angles and geometric shapes. The mounding has peaks, and the greens and hazards are rectangles of ellipses. Cupp's vision became a reality in 1993, offering an exciting new challenge for players of all abilities. A public course that is popular with members and visitors alike.

Opened in 1991, this Hills work was instantly dubbed a classic by Golf Magazine. The Hills course at Palmetto Hall still remains one of the most popular courses on Hilton Head. The course is seamlessly integrated into wetlands and stands of live oak, willow, and pine. Protected greens, many edged with bunkers and water on 14 holes, provide a constant challenge.

One of the island's oldest courses, Barony was designed by George W. Cobb back in 1963. You'll feel comfortable with your driver in your hand here as Cobb provides generous landing areas throughout the round. Don't get too comfortable; however, as your approach shots will much need to be on the mark. Cobb offers a "risk/reward" approach to well-guarded and well-bunkered greens. After golf, make sure to enjoy some time in the club's beautiful Antebellum-style clubhouse.

This Willard Byrd design opened back in 1984 and was once hosted the Hilton Head Seniors International, a Champions Tour event. A bit unusual for this area, Planter's Row is more of a parkland course with rolling, tree-lined fairways and water coming into play on just several holes. The club's large undulating greens are arguably the best feature here. In fact, your short game particularly your putting better be on in order to score well.

Redesigned by Pete Dye in 1994, this terrific course has long been an island favorite. Cut through beautiful stands of magnolia and live oak trees, the grounds here are rich in Civil War history. In fact, you'll find historical markers on several holes describing the events that happened here so long ago. The course itself is typical (diabolical?) Dye with fairly generous landing zones, but tough approach shots to small, well-bunkered greens.

This outstanding golf resort features the Island's biggest golf draw, Harbour Town Golf Links, and two more championship caliber courses -- the Ocean Course and Sea Marsh. Rated #59 in the world by Golf Magazine (2005), the Nicklaus/Dye-designed Harbour Town is home to The Heritage of Golf, one of the top events on the PGA TOUR. Best of all, you'll find Harbour Town to be better than ever after major renovations by original designer Pete Dye. It's a bear, but this is one course you must play if traveling to Hilton Head.

Rated #42 in the world by Golf Magazine, the Nicklaus/Dye-designed Harbour Town is home to The Heritage of Golf, one of the top events on the PGA TOUR. Harbour Town is better than ever after major renovations by original designer Pete Dye. The totally renovated course, formerly known as Sea Marsh, features fairways completely reshaped into dramatic angles and shifting elevations that lead to severely undulating, well-protected greens complexes that will offer brand new challenges to players.

Although it was the first course on Hilton Head Island, the Ocean Course at Sea Pines remains one of the most popular resort courses to this day. The course was redesigned by Mark McCumber in 1996 and features some of the most scenic golf views on the island. The par-three 15th hole, in particular, will make you break out the camera for a few candid shots. The Ocean is a Certified Audobon Cooperative Sanctuary golf course.

This 27-hole layout features three distinct nines the Brigantine, the Clipper, and the Galleon wandering through tall pines, magnolias, and oaks. A myriad of lagoons and ponds lurk at every twist and turn as 25 water hazards are positioned strategically throughout the property.
