Longleaf Golf And Country Club ~ 2.75 miles (Not Driving Distance)
You're going to love a round on The Club at Longleaf. The club is built on land that was formerly Starland Farms, one of the country's top training stables for thoroughbreds. Many of the original features such as white fences, hedgerows and even part of the training track have been retained as a tribute to the site's history. Carved out of a 230-acre sand quarry, The Pit has received rave reviews since opening in 1985. An original Dan Maples design, it is currently ranked as one of the Top 50 courses in America open to the public, and in the Top 10 in North Carolina by both Golf Digest and Golfweek. Ranked in Golfweek's top 50 courses for five consecutive years, Deercroft is another Sandhills gem. The winding layout through longleaf pines and the immaculate conditioning attracted the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 1986 and 1987.
