Located 40 minutes northwest of Orlando is one of Central Florida's most intimate getaways. The hotel itself, a sprawling Spanish-colonial hacienda with arched verandas and red-tiled roofs, offers tremendous views of the resort grounds. Built in 1926, Mission Inn's El Campeon, "The Champion," is one of the south's oldest and most historical, prestigious golf courses. Architect Captain Charles Clarke of Troon, Scotland, blended unusual elevation changes of more than 85 feet with features of traditional golf design. Rolling fairways (some dramatic), undulating greens and well-placed berms, bunkers and sandy waste areas, as well as water on 11 holes, all only begin to characterize the aura of El Campeon. Mission Inn Golf Resort-Las Colinas ~ 1.76 miles (Not Driving Distance)
Mission Inn's Las Colinas ("The Hills") was built in 1992 and designed by former PGA Tour player and TV commentator, Gary Koch. Just rated 4 stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places To Play, 2008/2009" and nominated as Golf Digest's 1992 "Best New Resort Course," Las Colinas offers quite a different challenge from El Campeon.
