This Willard Byrd design opened back in 1984 and was once hosted the Hilton Head Seniors International, a Champions Tour event. A bit unusual for this area, Planter's Row is more of a parkland course with rolling, tree-lined fairways and water coming into play on just several holes. Co-designed in 1992 by Fuzzy Zoeller and Clyde Johnston, Island West was carved out of a 150-acre coastal forest. The course features lush wetlands and richly colored Bermuda greens and fairways. This course caters to the novice as well as the veteran and exudes Fuzzy's trademark sense of fun. The idea was to enable players of all abilities to truly enjoy their round.
