Oh, man, we get this question all the time. Travel insurance is a very personal choice and there is a division of opinion on the subject. Some people won't even consider it, others won't travel without it.

Although we do not sell travel insurance, we do recommend it for most trips. Anyone traveling internationally should look very closely at insurance options as many personal policies have coverage restrictions when out of the country. In addition, we find many of the courses we work with internationally have a "no refund" policy no matter what the circumstances may be.

Although a smaller percentage of domestic travelers purchase travel insurance, we still think you should at least consider it. We see many situations arise where our travelers lose a deposit or payment for one reason or another. For example, many Golfpac travelers choose to stay in rental homes and condos that can have some pretty stiff cancellation penalties these days. In addition, many resort and golf properties are getting tougher on cancellations. This winter, in particular, has been crazy with flight delays and cancellations. Many travelers were affected by Mother Nature. Most travel insurance policies will cover these situations.

Bottom line; we think all Golfpac travelers should weigh the cost of insurance against the benefits received. As we say around here, better safe than sorry!
