First-time visitors to the Avocet are impressed by this Larry Nelson and Jeff Bauer design. The designers moved tons of dirt to create large mounds and elevation changes unusual for the area. There are some terrific design elements throughout including a double fairway on number nine bisected by a line of grass and pot bunkers. You choose which fairway depending on the day's pin location. It's just one great hole on layout full of fantastic holes. Avocet was recently rated four stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play."
