About Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club (Celebration, FL)
Mystic Dunes was designed by PGA Tour Professional and NBC golf analyst Gary Koch in 2001. From par-71 to a par-72, this 7012-yard course layout is truly unique to Orlando. The links-style front nine with its rolling fairways, bump-and-run shots around the greens and quick putting surfaces, makes golfers feel reminiscent of the courses of the British Isles. The course challenges golfers to play it smart off the tee and deliver solid iron shots into the greens (water found just on holes 1 and 2). The "low-country" back nine weaves its way through majestic oaks and pine trees, similar to those courses in the Carolinas, meandering through marsh and wetlands. The expansive driving range, restaurant & bar, "Kenzie's," all round out the entire "Mystic Dunes Experience."

Although our agent, advised us that there were 3 greens in bad shape a few days before our arrival and gave us options to play another course, we chose to play Mystic Dunes, since we have not been able to play it for serveral years due to bad green conditions. She was able to get a rebate for ea. golfer, which was great, actually all the greens were in bad shape when we actually played not golfpacs fault.

The course was extremely difficult. I doubt if the professionals would ever play this course because of the difficulty. The greens were way too fast and rolling. The fairways were too narrow and covered with too many hazards. This course was no fun to play.

Wonderful layout and a joy to play. A couple of the greens were a little "iffy" in spots but they rolled fast and true and were not an issue. The only complaint I had was that a couple of holes had such severe two-tier elevation changes, they were almost unputtable. If you have never played the course before (like us) it was a major factor. Everything else was great.

Good location and decent shape. Very near to Disney so we had a very short drive. course very brown due to lack of rain. Like the course but the designer 'tricked up" too many of the holes. Hate the par 5 15th green which drops 20 feet off the back of the green.

Very disappointed in this course. It was far too penal, hit a great shot and it ends up rolling into a wast bunker. Very unfair, I could see why a pga event would never be played here. Pros would refuse...Micky Mouse mound in the middle of a green. It was like playing miniature golf.

Although not in the pristine condition of some of the course we played, this is an extremely exciting course to play...some real variety, visual interest and some unbelievable green complexes. Not the kind of course you would necessarily want to play everyday, but a wonderful change from some of the cookie cutter courses you can find in the area. Will definitely play again.
