About Providence Golf Club (Davenport, FL)
Providence is located in Davenport, just off I-4 and an easy 15-20 minutes west of the Disney/ Kissimmee area. The course serves as a haven of serenity providing a refreshing, scenic, and memorable golf getaway. Opened in 2007, this layout is a nice masterpiece, challenging and aesthetically pleasing. It will test your game as it winds its way through fresh water creeks, ancient hardwoods, and wetlands; and it's not unusual to catch a glimpse of otter, deer, or wild turkey, particularly on the more natural back nine. Architect Mike Dasher had an affection for European-style golf courses and it is evident on many of the track's subtle, gently undulating greens. Customer service is a priority and the Providence staff is dedicated to making a day at this golf course enjoyable and memorable. Early-Bird dinner specials on weekends (4:30-6PM) for $8.95. 2-for-1 Dinner Specials Wed. & Fri. nights, 4:30-8:30PM (prices $15-$20). Great golf ~ great food ~ excellent values!

Nice, not overly long, golf course. Good layout, generally good conditions, greens in good shape, but had a little disease damage, which I'll attribute to drought conditions throughout the state. Green speeds were a little inconsistent, some maybe 7 on stimp, some maybe 9. We'll try it again in the future.

The people here were very nice and we enjoyed the course. It was a bit rough due to not over seeding, but the greens were good. We returned there the following day and played in the Super Bowl Scramble and had a lot of fun.

We're rating this course last of 5, but that's not the whole picture. This was a nice course that we played on a Wednesday, 4 days into a 5 day golf excursion. We both had good scores and enjoyed ourselves. But this course didn't have the challenge of Diamondback, the stunning vistas of Sanctuary Ridge, or the fun of Bridgewater. Providence is a nice course and we took a lot of pictures here (alligator, sandhill cranes on the tee box). It probably was the ideal course for day 4 of 5... already into the groove, not feeling the need for more because it's Day 5, etc. Again, we'd recommend this course. And we do feel kinda bad since it's like being a B student in a class with a bunch of A students.... but B's are good tooo

The course was in great shape, but the greens needed to be cut three day prior to us getting on the course, very very slow compaired to the 5 other courses. But it was in good shape. Will try it again next year to see the improvements.
