About Plantation on Crystal River

The Plantation on Crystal River, located just 15 minutes from Black Diamond Ranch and 20-25 minutes from World Woods Golf Club, is the perfect place to Stay and Play! This resort is set on 232 acres of pristine Florida landscape with lofty pines, arching palms, cypress trees and Spanish moss. It features an 18-hole championship golf course and a 9-hole lagoon course that will challenge the most discerning players. You'll find that accuracy counts on these large, but well-guarded greens. The 18-hole course was voted Best of the Best in Citrus County. The Original Golf School holds winter sessions here. Stay-and-Play packages are available, or allow us to create your custom package including the on-site course and the area's other top-notch facilities. This AAA Three Diamond resort is the perfect spot for those looking for the "undiscovered" Florida. Enjoy the perfect mixture of Florida/Caribbean cuisine in West 82 Bar & Grill; relax in the 96,000 gallon heated lagoon style pool, enjoy a game of tennis, cruise the river, snorkel with the manatees, or enjoy watching the sunset on a guided river tour from their full service Adventure Center and Marina. The Plantation offers a good time for everyone!

No bell person to help with luggage Restaurant staff stated that they were very short staffed and could not accommodate us for dinner, so we ate off of the resort........... My paperwork stated that we requested a king bed, but had to pay an upgrade charge to get one. Do not feel that we should have paid for what we had request.

A little dated, but clean. We enjoyed our stay in the Golf Villa.
    William Whitfield(Cumberland, RI 02864) 2/4/2016
A nice spot offering comfortable rooms, good food and accommodating employees. My only concern was the dampness factor. Two of the four people in our party came down with nasal congestion during the five day stay.

We stayed in the small condos across the road and found them to be good. Lanai faces the golf course and has a grill and seating if you want to cook out. Very good service staff

    MICKEY HERBST 3/29/2010
We stayed in the recently renovated building and the rooms were very nice. This is not a top teir hotel, but they do a great job treating their guests first class. The restaurant is surprisingly good, and the outside recommendations of restaurants was good as well.
    NIC JEPSON 4/5/2008
Not too bad but not ideal room design and had to use pullout sofa.
    LORETTA BOZARTH 3/17/2008
The condo we stayed in would have involved walking along a busy highway to get to the hotel itself and amenities. We had a small child along, and that walk was not possible. The condo itself was obviously old and had not been maintained very well. The kitchen was not equipped for actual use by tenants--there were not enough glasses, silverware, the pots and pans were inadeaquate. The living room furniture was worn and broken and not adequate for six people. There were only four dining room chairs and one was broken and unusable. Exterior doors did not work easily. The beds were nice and there was adequate hot water.
    STEP JOHNSON 2/11/2008
    the Inn is "tired"
    HERMAN SCHKABLA 12/17/2007
Golf condo furnishings could use a little updating.
    CRAIG GLATZ 3/20/2007
That "yes" for staying there again is more like "maybe". We've been going there for about six years and have always been happy with the experience. This year, things seemed different. The hotel bar closed most nights by 10pm, even when there were patrons in the bar. The cabana bar, which used to be open Friday thru Sunday, wasn't going to open until March 15th, except that they did open Saturday, but only because there was a wedding outside. On Thursday night, three of our golfers went to the dining room about 7:30pm to have dinner. They were told that they couldn't be served because the restaurant was full, even though there were only about eight tables occupied. On our last day, we had 8:30 tee times at their golf course. One of our guys went to the front desk Friday to see if we could check out a little later, so we could use the rooms to change before we left for the airport. The front desk clerk told him that wasn't possible, that there was a strict rule against late check-outs. He then asked to speak to the manager, who did allow it, as long as we guaranteed that we would be checked out by 1:00pm. None of these things were "deal breakers", but it seems to me that when you advertise yourself as a resort, you imply that you are more than just a hotel and that you are set up to cater to your guests. We left with the exact opposite impression.
