About White Heron Golf Club
Among the best courses open to the public in Central Florida, White Heron Golf Club is a superb test of golf and one of the most challenging venues in central Florida that’s enjoyable for all levels of players. Originally Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club when it opened in 1994, the course has a rich history and is home to most of the Professional Developmental Tours (and still is). The course was designed by Ted McAnlis, who learned his craft working for George and Tom Fazio. New upgrades and changes that began in 2020 are the visions and passion for golf by White Heron’s owner, resulting in Golf Pass naming the course “The most improved course in America.” White Heron rewards good shots and tests every club in your bag. The course plays well over 7300 yards from the tips all the way down to 4400 yards from the family tees, six different tees to choose from in total. The course features rolling topography, native pines and palms, fantastic wildlife, over 100 natural sand bunkers with water and wetlands coming into play on 16 holes, as well as beautiful Champions G12 Greens (new as of 2022). White Heron also offers a natural grass driving range, two large putting and chipping greens, and a pay for play short game area. Enjoy a well stocked pro shop featuring Srixon, Calloway, TaylorMade, Volvik, Under Armour, Ahead, and Adidas, with full club fitting availability. The teaching and coaching facility features Glenn J. Brown (G J Brown Golf Academy) and Michael Lee Golf Professional, who round out the staff of Professionals. The newly renovated “Nest” Restaurant features fantastic food prepared for your dining pleasure by Chef Marcelo, a fully stocked bar with all your favorite beverages, large screen TV’s and outdoor dining.
